About

Who are you?
My name's Hannah, and I'm a second-year Theology student from the UK.

Why From Heathen to Heretic?
When I started my degree, I was a card-carrying agnostic/atheist (depending on the day). However, early on in my second year I felt something pushing me to go to church on the following Sunday. I didn't know what that feeling was - and I'm still not sure if I know now - but on All Saints' Day 2015, I went to my first Eucharist service at the local Anglican church. Since then, I've been thinking a lot more about the content of my degree and what it truly means to me. Whatever this is, it's a journey, and I thought I'd take the internet along on the ride.

What do you actually believe, then?
That is a question to which I have the same answer as my past irreligious self would give - it changes from day to day. I feel most 'at home' in a middle way Anglican tradition, but I do enjoy a bit of liberal Catholicism thrown in for good measure. I think it's the combination of reason, tradition and Scripture which appeals to me the most, and I also appreciate traditional liturgy - I'm more comfortable calling myself 'religious' than 'faithful', or on some days even 'Christian'.

Can I argue with you in 140-character text bytes, or perhaps even though photographs?
Absolutely. You can find my Twitter here and my Instagram here.

Do you like anything else?
I am a fan of stationery, organisation and productivity tips, which I've been trying and failing to consistently write about for around three years at my other blog, Hanntea (oh, the irony).
